Advanced surgical and orthopedic units open in their new quarters in the magnificent new hospital tower
In a medically complex operation, Mayanei Hayeshua transferred its general surgical, ENT, bariatrics, urology and orthopedics units from their previous quarters in the central, building to their new spacious location in the hospital tower recently added to Mayanei Hayeshua’s campus. The new units boast dozens of beds and advanced medical equipment.
The new hospital tower was opened in a grand dedication ceremony attended by Jewish leaders and leading public figures, as part of the dedication ceremony for the new Heiden Institute of Cardiology. In the first stage, the general intensive care, cardiac intensive care, and catheterization units were transferred to the entrance floor of the building. Now the surgical and orthopedic units have been transferred as well to their spacious new quarters on Floor #1 of the new building. Along with them, the urology, ENT, bariatrics and proctology departments – which all operate under the surgical unit – moved to the new location as well.
According to Chaim Fachler, International Director of Resource Development, “The patients in the new wards – and their families as well – enjoy upgraded, better conditions, spacious rooms, modern beds and equipment, and accommodations that match the most advanced medical centers in the world.” He also noted that over the next few days, the Heart Institute that is currently in the outpatient clinic area will move to the new hospital tower, adjacent to catheterization unit.”
The surgical ward is managed by Dr. Moshe Koller; The bariatrics unit is managed by Professors Moshe Rubin and Andrei Keidar; The adult urology unit is managed by Prof. Ami Sidi and Dr. Binyamin Shalva; The ENT unit is managed by Prof. Raphael Feinmesser; The orthopaedics unit is managed by Dr. Itai Holzer; The pediatric orthopedics unit is managed by Dr. Lionel Kopelowitz.
